The Power of Netizens

The power that Netizens (Netizens = 'Internet Citizen') have can be ridiculous up to the point that they will ruin a famous person's live, no matter what. It seems they fight only for their selfish reasons and care for no one else, and they will continue to fight a matter until they win. A very recent case was in South Korea, where there was a controversy between two actresses on set. To give you a brief idea of the setting, an older actress Lee Tae Im was upset by a younger actress Yewon talking down on her. Before you think, what's the big deal, the senior and junior titles play a very important role in their culture, and it's very disrespectful if you behave in a negative way towards your senior. In any case K-netizens were involved from the beginning, first shocked at LTI's outburst at poor Yewon, and how it was unnecessary to react that way. But when a video of the incident turned up later on, all hell broke loose and netizens requested an official apology from Yewon for lying. To read into this some more, you can follow the below links and follow what exactly happened

You can also read up on an article from user yuryunj on Soompi, which describes very clearly describes the differences between Korean Netizen vs International to K-pop news in general. On another note, there is a more current issue from Netizens, whereby they are petitioning for the removal of a singer from a reality show. Now isn't that ridiculous? I mean, if they don't like the person then they shouldn't watch him. End of story! But unfortunately and a lot of times, TV producers do listen to netizens. What do you think of the whole power of K-Netizens and Netizens issue?
